Could you ask a close relative? Just assure him or her that YOU would be paying the loans back, not him or her. Be ready to beg them.. maybe shed a few tears.

If this is not possible, try giving Sallie Mae a call and tell them your situation. If this does not help, see what kind of grants or scholarships you can get through the school or possibly outside of the school. ..talk to your financial aid office.

Don't give up hope yet.

Go to your high school guidance office and explain to them what your situation is. And can you get your father to cosign. A grandparent. No matter, the school should be able to help you get a loan or grant. That is part of their job. Do it as soon as possible because the loans are going out and there may not be much left if you wait. Good Luck.

You will have to find a co-signer with good credit that will trust you to re-pay the loan to him.

OMG! I am going through the same thing. Applied to the same Sallie Mae company %26amp; is in the process as of having my uncle as a cosigner.

I have to tell my mom everything what to do b.c she don't know how to go about receiving loans at all. I am exhausted.

Try having a relative w/ good credit.

If loans are out see if you can find other avenues such as grants, scholarships, fellowships, and workstudy. There are thousands of grants out there they people never ask for because they either give up to easily, don't know where to find them, or don't know how to write a grant letter. Go to your local library and talk to the librarian about where you would be able to find the book %26quot;Grants for Individuals%26quot; as well as other books related to a listing of grants for education. It takes a lot of work to get these type of grants, but once the money starts rolling in it will be well worth it. Hope that helps!
